State Representative Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) is launching a “Valentines for Seniors” drive, and will deliver homemade valentines and well-wishes to senior care facilities throughout the 45th District on or around Valentine’s Day on February 14.
“The health pandemic has been tough for our seniors living in nursing homes and long-term care settings. For safety reasons they have been unable to spend much time with their families and other loved ones,” said Lewis. “I’m hoping that the delivery of handmade valentines and notes of encouragement will brighten their days and let them know they are special and not forgotten.”
Lewis encourages kids of all ages to showcase their creativity when making valentines. Valentines and well-wishes will be collected through February 10 and can be mailed to: Rep. Seth Lewis, PO Box 8547, Bartlett, IL 60103. Lewis said he would also be happy to pick up stacks of valentines from local schools and day care centers.
“This project allows our community’s young people to provide a healthy dose of joy and happiness to area seniors,” added Lewis. “It’s a small gesture that will make a big difference to older people who may be feeling isolated.”
To learn more about this project or to arrange for a pickup, please call Rep. Lewis’ office at (630) 349-0645. The 45th District includes all or portions of Addison, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Hanover Park, Itasca, Roselle, West Chicago, and Wood Dale.
