State Representative Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) is hosting an upcoming prescription drop off event in partnership with the Bloomingdale Police to ensure that unused, unwanted, or expired prescriptions are properly disposed. The event will be held on Friday, September 23rd at the Bloomingdale Police Department (201 S Bloomingdale Road) from 10:00am—Noon.
Area residents are invited to drop off any of the following items to be properly disposed of: prescription medications, prescription ointments and patches, vitamins, and pet medicines. Restricted items include needles and illegal drugs.
“I am excited to bring this event to our community for the second year in a row,” said Rep. Lewis. “We had an amazing turn out last year with hundreds of old prescriptions collected. It’s important we continue to dispose of these medications the right way to prevent any harm in our larger community. We have our local police department to thank for their partnership on this event—they are relentless at working hard to keep us, our communities, and our families safe!”
Representative Lewis encourages everyone in his district to clean out their medicine cabinets and take advantage of disposing of these substances the right way. This is an outdoor drive thru event—residents can look for the tent at the main entrance. With questions about the upcoming event, contact his district office at (630) 349 – 0645.
